Getting Around Town

The best piece of advice we can give you: leave the car parked and walk. The Historic District is compact, flat, and endlessly rewarding on foot. When your feet need a rest, you have excellent options.

Free

Walking

About 2.5 miles from River Street to the south end of Forsyth Park. Most visitors log 5–10 miles a day without trying. Wear comfortable shoes — the cobblestones are authentic and unforgiving.

One-Way Streets

Most streets in the Historic District are one-way. The grid is logical once you learn it, but use GPS and watch the direction arrows until you do.

Park once. Walk everywhere.
